A Smile

There’s something you may give,
To a friend and a stranger too;
It seems that when you give it,
It’s given back to you.
This gift is worth a million,
But doesn’t cost a dime;
It’s lasting in effect,
But doesn’t take much time,
This simple little gesture
Can make the day worthwhile;
It’s just as good as sunshine;
It’s what we call a smile.

In Life’s Garden

Count your garden by the flowers,
never by the leaves that fall.
Count your days by the golden hours,
don’t remember the clouds at all.
Count your nights by the stars,
not by shadows.
Count your life with smiles not tears,
and with joy through all your life.
Count your age by friends not years.

============================================
Life is…

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfil it.
Life is a sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
============================================
Just for Today

I will live through the next 12 hours and try not to tackle all of life’s problems at once.
I will improve my mind, I will learn something that requires effort and concentration.
I will be agreeable. I will look my best, speak in a well modulated voice, and be courteous and considerate.
I will not find fault with a friend, relative or colleague. I will not try to change or improve anyone but myself.
I will have a programme. I might not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two enemies:
hurry and indecision.
I will do a good turn and keep it a secret. If anyone finds out, it will not count.
I will do two things I don’t want to do, just for the exercise.
I will believe in myself. I will give my best to the world and feel confident that the world will give it’s best to me.

Thoughts

Words and actions are the factions
that make or break our day.
And thoughts are the things
from whence they all spring.
To be the best we can possibly be,
to grow, and learn in every adversity,
and not lose the success that’s ours to be
requires control of our thoughts explicitly.
Never doubt the possibilities to be,
and obstacles will never become a reality.
We create our own success you see
but only with a positive mentality.
============================================
Think

If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t;
If you’d like to win but you think you can’t,
You can almost be certain you won’t.
If you think that you’ll lose, you are lost,
For out in the world you will find
Success begins with a person’s will;
It’s all in the state of the mind.
If you think you’re outclassed you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve just got to be sure of yourself
Before you can win the prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To a stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the person who wins
Is the person that THINKS they can.
============================================

Winners

Winners take chances like everyone else,
They fear failing, but they refuse to let fear control them.
Winners don’t give up,
When life gets tough, they hang in until the going gets better
Winners are flexible.
They realise there is more than one way and they are willing to try others.
Winners know they are not perfect.
They respect their weaknesses while making the most of their strengths.
Winners fall, but they don’t stay down.
They stubbornly refuse to let a fall keep them from climbing.
Winners don’t blame fate for their failures,
Nor luck for their successes.
Winners accept responsibility for their lives.
Winners are positive thinkers who see good in all things.
From the ordinary, they make the extraordinary.
Winners believe in the path they have chosen even when it’s hard,
Even when others can’t see where they are going.
Winners are patient.
They know a goal is only as worthy as the effort that’s required to achieve it.
Winners are people like you.
They make this world a better place to be.

Don’t Quit!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
when he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worst, that
You Must Not Quit.

7 Action Steps to Positive Thinking…
Having a bit of positive thinking can help you realise the things that you never thought possible.

Step 1: Take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk is cheap. Action = success of a passionately authentic future. Successful People turn their dreams into reality by Taking Action

Step 2: Commit to yourself to create successful life you can be proud of Instead of reacting, commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. Your dream will always be there, but a dream will still be a dream without your commitment. Take action with commitment and be amazed as the transformation begins.

Step 3: Recognize and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome Every time you hit on something that may appear too extreme, why not give it a shot and see if it will work. You will be surprised to see of there are other ways to get the task done in time. If you are not pleased with the outcome, decide to use
that moment to learn from and make the appropriate shift.

Step 4:Dwell completely in a place of gratitude Learn to utilise what you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive way. Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude, away from poverty consciousness.

Step 5: Use a Passion Formula of Recognise Re-evaluate and Restore In place of I should have / I would have /I could have done it this way. The former is based on increased knowledge and abundance while the latter focuses on scarcity and lack. When something goes wrong don’t sit down and mope about, recognise your mistakes and learn from them for the next time

Step 6: Keep humour at the forefront of thought Laughing at and with your self when possible. You may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! I am yet to see a comedian ever go hungry even though his jokes are as ‘old as great-grandma’. Life has so much to offer to allow you to mope around in self pity. HumoHumour is very attractive, very passionate: life-giving.

Step 7: Believe that you are the architect of your destiny No one can take your passionate future from you except for you! Create your life authentically. As long as there’s still breath in your body, there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime. The concept of thinking big is all about enjoying your work, which would lead to celebrate a discovery that is born within your hands. Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate precision.

God’s Boxes
I have in my hands two boxes

Which God gave me to hold.

He said, “Put all your sorrows in the black box,

And all your joys in the gold.”

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes

Both my joys and sorrows I stored,

But though the gold became heavier each day

The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black,

I wanted to find out why,

And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole

Which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God, and mused,

“I wonder where my sorrows could be.”

He smiled a gentle smile and said,

“My child, they’re all here with me.”

I asked God why He gave me the boxes,

Why the gold, and the black with the hole?

“My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,

The black is for you to let go.”

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

Apache Wedding Prayer
Now you will feel no rain,
For each of you will be shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no more loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two bodies,
But there is only one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place
To enter into the days of your togetherness
And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

Instructions for Life
Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

Memorize your favorite poem.

Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

When you say, “I love you”, mean it.

When you say, “I’m sorry”, look the person in the eye.

Be engaged at least six months before you get marriedBelieve in love at first sight.

Never laugh at anyone’s dreams. People who don’t have dreams don’t have much.

Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it’s the only way to live life completely.

In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

Don’t judge people by their relatives.

Talk slowly but think quickly.
When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask, “Why do you want to know?”

Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

Call your parents.

Say “bless you” when you hear someone sneeze.

When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

God’s Blank Check Wish …
A man was walking along a California beach and was in deep prayer to the Lord. He said, “Lord, you have promised to give me the desires of my heart. That’s what I am asking you for right now. Please give me a confirmation that you will grant my wish.”

Suddenly the sky clouded up over his head and the Lord in a booming voice spoke to him. “I have searched your heart and determined it to be pure. The last time I issued a blank wish request it was to Solomon. He didn’t disappoint me with his request for wisdom. I think I can trust that you won’t disappoint me either. Because you have been faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish you ask for.”

The man sat and thought about it for a while and said, “I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I’m deadly afraid of flying and I get very seasick on boats. Could you build a bridge to Hawaii, so I can drive over there to visit whenever I want?”

The Lord laughed and said, “That’s impossible! Think of the logistics of that! How would the supports ever reach the bottom of the Pacific? Think of how much concrete…how much steel!!! Your request is very materialistic, a little disappointing. I could do it, but it’s hard for me to justify your craving for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honor and glorify Me as well.”

Time Management
One day an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students and, to drive home a point, used an illustration those students will never forget. As he stood in front of the group of high powered overachievers he said, “Okay, time for a quiz.” Then he pulled out a one-gallon, wide mouth mason jar, and set it on the table in front of him.

Then he produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar. When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, “Is this jar full?”Everyone in the class said, “Yes.”

Then he said, “Really?”

He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. Then he dumped some gravel in and shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the space between the big rocks.

Then he asked the group once more, “Is the jar full?”

By this time the class was on to him. “Probably not,” one of them answered.

“Good!” he replied.He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping the sand in the jar and it went into all of the spaces left between the rocks and the gravel. Once more he asked the question, “Is this jar full?”

“No!” the class shouted.

Once again he said, “Good.”

Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim. Then he looked at the class and asked, “What is the point of this illustration?”

One eager beaver raised his hand and said, “The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard, you can always fit some more things in it!”

“No,” the speaker replied, “that’s not the point.The truth this illustration teaches us is: “If you don’t put the Big Rocks in first, you’ll never get them in at all.”

What are the ‘big rocks’ in your life? Time with your loved ones? Your faith, your education, your dreams? A worthy cause? Teaching or mentoring others? Remember to put these “BIG ROCKS” in first or you’ll never get them in at all. So tonight, or in the morning, when you are reflecting on this short story, ask yourself this question: What are the ‘Big Rocks’ in My Life?

Then, put those in your jar first.
